Ohorongo Cement employees engaged more than 1000 motorists on the B1 between Otavi and Tsumeb on Thursday (24 May 2018), at a roadblock on the B1 near the Ohorongo Cement Plant entrance. The road block was managed by the Otavi Police and Traffic officers, under the direct leadership of Chief Inspector Shipepe.
“We are glad that we could participate in the road safety awareness campaign. We believe that what we have done could also have contributed to an accident free Africa Day long weekend especially on the B1 road from Otjiwarongo towards the northern regions. Thank you to every motorist that heeded our call to be courteous and respectful towards other drivers,” said Junge Jansen, Ohorongo Cement’s Health and Safety Coordinator.
The participation of Ohorongo employees is one of many ways used by the company to complement the road safety awareness campaign efforts of the National Road Safety Council.
The MVA Fund also assist during the initiative.
