infrastructure during the hand-over event at Rooidaghek Primary School
Support e.V. was established by a group of medical doctors who made it their aim to support humanitarian projects throughout the world. They partnered with Ohorongo Cement in Namibia, to implement various identified projects aimed at making a difference at grassroots level.
One such project was identified at Rooidaghek Primary School, located at Rooidag Gate Veterinary Fence, on the way to Tsumkwe. A dilapidated shelter was used as a cooking area, and the water tank and stand were in need of urgent upgrading. The school is centrally situated, providing access to learners from 3 community settlements – Omatako, Grashoek and Swarthak. A new cooking area / kitchen was built, that includes a food preparation area, running water, and a fire pit. The old water tank was replaced with a new tank, and the stand was renovated with new steel. The total project cost was N$ 102,000.
During the hand-over event on 15 January 2025, Chief Longman Nailenge of the !Kung Traditional Authority in the N#a Jaqna Conservancy expressed the gratitude from the community and noted that the donated kitchen and structure will certainly have a lasting impact on the ability to support the children. Mr. Hakuria, principal at the school, noted that the donation will have a remarkable impact on the learners and staff, for years to come.
Mr. Rudolf Coetzee handed over the donation on behalf of Support e.V and Ohorongo Cement.
