In April 2011, OOCT and Global United F.C. e.V. first joined forces to uplift the Otavi community by hosting a historical football event with more than 5 000 spectators, which was held in the town of Otavi.
Global United has a mission to fight global warming by playing exhibition football matches at various worldwide locations affected by climate change. This also supports the Sustainable Energy Drive from the Ministry of Environment & Tourism.
Ohorongo supports this mission and drive and strongly believes in the upliftment of the community, while at the same time, protecting the environment. By making use of the global popularity of football, it serves as a great platform to raise awareness for the alarming issue of global warming and increasing environmental awareness.
