JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with finance, administrative and controlling functions, ensuring accurate debtors, creditors, and bank management, supporting month-end closing, VAT compliance, and audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review monthly creditors reconciliations, GR/IR control accounts, transport reconciliations, and approve payments.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, monitor inward and outward payments, and manage petty cash reconciliations.
  • Load daily exchange rates to SAP and prepare monthly exchange rate tracking sheets.
  • Adhere to monthly closing deadlines and prepare reporting packs for the holding company.
  • Ensure VAT compliance, assist with VAT audits, and maintain accurate supporting documents.
  • Assist with customs audits and ensure import documents are reconciled.
  • Perform duties of debtors and creditors clerks, and act as replacement during their absence.
  • Support annual year-end audits, internal audits, and any other required audits.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties, streamline processes, and improve efficiency.
  • Motivate and train fellow staff members as required.
  • Ensure professional communication in English with staff, suppliers, and customers.
  • Comply with company quality, environmental, health & safety, and social accountability standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Accounting/Finance Degree or Diploma with at least 1 year experience, OR minimum 5 years on-the-job training in accounting.
  • Solid knowledge of VAT laws and application.
  • Experience in a manufacturing business environment; SAP knowledge is a distinct advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize workload, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
  • High accuracy, discipline, stress tolerance, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to professional conduct, quality standards, and compliance with company policies.
