JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Superintendent ensures the cement product portfolio aligns with company quality objectives and international standards. The role involves managing laboratory operations, supporting product development, and providing technical expertise to customers and internal teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee daily laboratory operations
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with NAMS EN 197-1/2, EN 196, and ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Conduct cement and concrete testing, analyze results, and maintain data records
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Provide mix designs for clinker process and optimize cement quality parameters
  • Address and resolve customer complaints efficiently
  • Build relationships with engineering firms and end users
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Ensure continuous certification of products with NSI, SABS, BOBS, etc.
  • Maintain and update departmental documentation
  • Develop new cement products as required by the market
  • Optimize existing product portfolio to meet customer needs and reduce carbon footprint
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies
  • Promote safe working procedures and revise risk assessments as needed
  • Supervise laboratory staff and ensure adequate manpower
  • Enforce disciplinary procedures and manage departmental budgets
  • Plan and implement technical training programs
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry/Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within laboratory operations
  • Experience in technical support and concrete applications and technical knowledge of cement and concrete properties (Will be an advantage)
  • Familiarity with NAMS EN 197-1/2 and other relevant standards
  • Extensive knowledge of analytical equipment like XRF, XRD, etc.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical evaluation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Fluent in English; local languages are advantageous
  • Willingness to travel abroad and within Namibia
