Enriching Namibia's Economy
At Ohorongo Cement, we understand that our positive impact on local and national income levels and socio-economic development is significant. Our calculations indicate that we contribute over one percent to Namibia’s total GDP. To enhance this impact, we prioritize local procurement and the purchase of homegrown products whenever possible. Ohorongo is one of the few Namibian companies where the entire value chain, from raw limestone rock to world-class cement, relies on Namibian raw materials.

Ohorongo Cement’s dedication to excellence has earned us several prestigious awards throughout the years. We are proud to have been the recipients of the EIF Award for Environmental Excellence Among Industries and the Gold Award for NMA Most Environmentally Friendly Manufacturer of the Year. We have also been recognized as the runner-up in the NSI Awards for Product of the Year, Quality Company of the Year, and Quality Service of the Year.

GIVING BACK: We are dedicated to giving back to the community of Namibia through our Corporate Social Investment Program (CSIP). By collaborating with national charities like the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia and international groups like Support e.V ULM, we uplift communities and contribute to the growth and development of Namibia.

Since the inception of our cement plant in 2010, we strived to support the economic growth and social development of the communities where we operate.
Our limestone deposit, which held reserves for more than 300 years, allows us a substantial commitment to practice good corporate citizenship for years to come.
